Ar. Almaz Salma Abdul Rahim

Ar. Almaz Salma Abdul Rahim earned her BSc (Hons) in Architecture and Diploma in Architecture from The Bartlett School of Architecture and Planning, University College London (UCL). She began her professional career with BEP Architect in 1984, progressing from Graduate Architect to Associate before establishing her own practice in 1994. Over more than four decades of practice, she has been involved in more than 250 design works across Malaysia.

As Managing Director, Ar. Almaz provides the strategic and business leadership behind AASB, building lasting relationships with clients while guiding the practice’s direction and growth. With a strong understanding of both design and business, she leads the team in translating client aspirations into well-considered architectural outcomes, while maintaining a disciplined approach to planning, efficiency and delivery.

Ar. Hir Azni Md. Tahir

Ar. Hir Azni Md. Tahir brings nearly 30 years of architectural experience, having graduated in Architecture and Urban Planning from MARA Institute of Technology and Oxford Brookes University, UK. His professional experience spans Kumpulan Arkitek and Perunding Alam Bina before joining Almaz Architect as a Design and Project Architect. He became a Director when the practice was incorporated as Almaz Architect Sdn Bhd.

Known for his ability to navigate complex project requirements, Ar. Hir combines architectural knowledge with a practical approach to problem solving. He oversees project and contract management from preparation and execution through completion and compliance, working closely with the architectural and technical teams to resolve challenges, coordinate processes and keep projects moving towards successful delivery.

Ar. Omar Baharum Director of Almaz Architect

Ar. Omar Baharum

Ar. Omar Baharum has been practising architecture since 2012, having obtained his BSc (Hons) and Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture from the University of East London. His early experience with Emoli Petroshka Architects and Squire and Partners in London was followed by his return to Malaysia, where he joined Almaz Architects as an Architectural Assistant and progressed to Project Architect.

Following his Part 3 certification in 2023, Ar. Omar was appointed Director of AASB. Bringing a strong design sensibility to the practice, he contributes fresh architectural thinking to the development of projects, with particular attention to design character, spatial experience and the relationship between architecture and its context.
